Award!!!
I have been given an award by a very special person in my life---Sherri---
On her new blog "Practically Perfect", which by the way describes her perfectly, gave me an award!!!!!!
Best Chocolate Pie Award
given to Tracey - soooo yummy
Well on her blog you could see a picture of the pie but leave it to me I can't figure out how to get it to mine, oh well!!!!!
A very special thanks to Sherri for the award, the pie was given to her family for all the things that they do for me and my family.... It may go unmentioned but never unnoticed the things that her family does for me and my family on a daily basis. They are truely a blessing to me and this was just a small token of my appreciation.
P.S A special thanks to Ron for the boy trip on Friday, Andy had a great time!!!!

All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten
by Robert Fulghum
All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school.
-These are the things I learned:
-Share everything.
-Play fair.
-Don't hit people.
-Put things back where you found them.
-Clean up your own mess.
-Don't take things that aren't yours.
-Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
-Wash your hands before you eat.
-Flush.
-Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
-Take a nap every afternoon.
-When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
-Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
-Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup -they all die. So do we.
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!!!

Things are changing.....
Well were finally got moved (my compnay that is). To catch everybody up, In January we found out that the portion of the company that I worked for was closing and we would be having a lay-off. I was informed that I would be able to keep a job but I would have to be changing the location that I work and have new job duties. I was OK with that because I just needed to keep a job. I stayed at the closing warehouse from January until we finally got everything closed and transferred out on Friday. Monday I had to report to my new office and new job duties..... It has not been bad, I had to set up my office and find everything where I had packed it and get used to working with an office full of people again.. for the longest time I was able to work in an office by myself and that I think has been the biggest change.
Sorry I have not posted much this week, I have to be much more careful about playing around on the computer at work now also.... Hope this post finds everyone doing well!!!!!

To all my Friends on Friday!!!!
The 30-Second Quiz
Don't bother getting a pen and paper... just read... if you can't
answer them, just keep going.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
5. Name the last five Academy Award winners for Best Actor and Actress.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remembers the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They're the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Now here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. Name three teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worth while.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson?
The people who make a difference in your life aren't the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They're the ones who care.
To all my friends----THANKS FOR CARING!!!
Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!

Help for busy moms!!!
While watching the Racheal Ray show today there was a very interesting lady on the show.... She made a New Year's Resolution to cook supper for her family for an entire year using only her CROCK POT..... She has created a blog dedicated only to the recipes she makes, I have looked at a few and they seem to look pretty good. I know for myself the crock pot is a big time saver around our busy life...Thought i would share... I am going to try and post a link to here web-site, (not sure if I can figure it out)

What TRACEY Means |
![]() You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in. You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care. |

4TH of July
We had a very busy but very fun 4th of July weekend.
Thursday night I took the boys and we went to with my 2 sisters and their kids to see the fireworks in Burlington. We also took our Grandpa with us, he is 86 yrs young and he had a great time going with us.
Friday Woody was off for the holiday also. We were invited to his cousins house for a cookout. She lives on Hyco Lake and invited us to bring the boys and go swimming and boating. We spent the entire day there and had a great time. It was the first time the boys had ever been in a lake to go swimming and they had a great time. We also had a great time on their boat. We were all pretty exhausted at the end of the day.
Saturday we decided to surprise Andy and take him to Duke University and look around the campus and take him to the bookstore. Andy is a BIG Duke fan and he had never been to the campus before. He was very surprised when we arrrived because we did not tell him where we were going. First we went to look at the chapel, it was not open so we could go in but it was beautiful from the outside. Second, we went to the campus bookstore and did some shopping. He had a great time looking at all the different items avaialble with Duke on them. Then we were going to take him and let him see the outside of Cameron stadium and luckily we walked over their and the girls b-ball team was practicing so he actually got to walk inside and see the inside of Coach K court. He was thrilled, his eyes were wide as they could be trying to soak it all in.. He had a great time and was thrilled with our surprise visit to his favorite school.
Sunday morning we went to church and after the service Sherri and myself took the 4 girls from our Olympian class that made their gold medal out for lunch and a movie. We made a quick stop off by the mall afterwards to a shop I had never been in before. Libby Lou's (i think), they were so excited, I think they liked it better than the movie. Having only boys I was lost in this very girly store but they seemed right at home. I think they had a great time and I know I did.
Those are the hightlights from our holiday weekend. It is now Monday and so I had to come back to work to rest. I hope everyone had a relaxing and wonderful holiday weekend.
Hugs,
T
